Technology Built from Necessity
P31 Labs was founded by a family navigating hypoparathyroidism, AuDHD, and the challenges of coordinating care across multiple households. What started as a personal solution grew into a mission: to build technology that respects human dignity.
Why Phosphorus-31?
Phosphorus-31 is the only stable isotope of phosphorus. In nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, P-31 is used to study the structure of DNA, RNA, and cell membranes.
It represents the intersection of biology, quantum physics, and the fundamental building blocks of life—exactly where we operate. Just as P-31 enables researchers to see the invisible structures of life, our technology helps families see and coordinate their invisible care networks.
Our Core Principles
Every decision we make is guided by these foundational values. They are non-negotiable.
Local-First
Your data lives on your devices first. The cloud is for synchronization, not storage. You own your information.
Sovereign Infrastructure
Own your tools. Run your own nodes. No vendor lock-in. No single point of failure. Your family, your rules.
Accessibility by Design
Built for neurodivergent users from day one. Gray Rock mode. Spoon tracking. Fawn detection. No afterthoughts.
Zero Platform Fees
100% of donations go to the mission. No middlemen taking a cut. Transparent financials. Open books.
Our Journey
The Spark
Founder navigating chronic illness and family separation realizes existing tools fail neurodivergent users. First code written in a VW Golf on I-95.
K4 Mesh Born
First prototype of family mesh network using Cloudflare Workers and Durable Objects. Tetrahedral topology for 4-vertex family units.
Node Zero Prototype
First ESP32 hardware prototype built. LoRa mesh networking for rural families without reliable internet. Battery-powered, 72-hour runtime.
Nonprofit Incorporation
P31 Labs, Inc. officially incorporated in Georgia. EIN 42-1888158. 501(c)(3) application submitted to IRS. Governance structure established.
